Your Genealogy Map Telling On Historical Art Piece For You (Term Paper Sample) Content: GenealogiesNameInstitutionRed Sphere by Jesus Rafael Soto is a historical art I chose for my sculptures. Soto is a Venezuelan artist, known for his kinetic sculptures; this Red Sphere is a public art in Caracas, Venezuela. I chose this piece of a "historical art" because it was the one that inspired me as a little girl to make sculptures. Red Spheres was built around twenty years ago and integrates many of the artist's discoveries and obsessions from 1950 that include perceptual instability, monochrome, vibration, and reductionism. The art brings an experience of real time and space. Numerous indistinguishable straight metal rods are overhanging on a square canopy in a regular grid which appears as a vivid colored cloud. The lines flicker consuming the geometrical shapes and cannot be seen from our eyes. The virtual spheres are horizontally divided under a cylinder into red and white. Their color forms are not full, and to the viewer, they appear and disappear, cont ract and expand simultaneously. As a contemporary artwork, I picked Equilibrio Natural by Jorge Mayet. Mayet is a Cuban artist. I chose this piece and this artist because he uses nature in his sculptures and represents it the name of the piece means "Natural balance" in English. His artwork is currently displayed at the Farjam Foundation in Dubai International Financial Center. Mayet was exiled from his homeland to Spain which has greatly influenced his artwork. In the Equilibrium Natural, Mayet represents the nature with a superficial soil hanging on the atmosphere with the trees to signify his uprooting from homeland to a new a foreign country. The trees represent memories of his homeland. The trees are drying up to signify how beauty can be lost when separated from the livelihood source. For example, trees cannot live in space when the soil is eroded, and they will die, and similarly human beings cannot live in isolation from their culture, they will lead a dreadful life.Source:ht tp://68.media.tumblr.com/530c9d518141d78de7ca6ceec1ac205e/tumblr_obhnng6aNb1vbfs6io1_1280.jpgAlso included in my sculptures is an example of non-visual art and pop culture: "The Beautiful Blue Danube" by Johan Strauss II. This piece for some reason gives me all the attention I need, somehow makes me concentrate even more; I can hear over and over again. It was composed in 1866. The art is marked by a variety of sweet melodies. The music is drawn from a sole metrical scheme and the luminosity of the orchestration. The artist displays outstanding skills in melodic execution which excels the dancing stage.I chose Surrealism as a movement for my work because is the one I am more attracted to as it is a route through which the power of imagination is unlocked. Surrealism seeks to express the unbridled imagination of unconsciousness. Surrealism aims at exploiting the unconscious mind and the primitivism as well as the myths. Surrealist imagery is mostly represented by nature which is the main theme of my work and therefore will guide the images that will be used in my sculptures (Randles, 2013).These series of art pieces are a work in progress. I've always been very intrigued in creating something beautiful fro...
